PETACA, NEW MEXICO

An isolated rural village in Northern New Mexico, Petaca was largely inhabited by Hispanic families,  but in 1970 a number of young urban Anglos moved into the community. Over the next two years, I spent time there, documenting the lives and interactions among the residents as they navigated language and cultural differences and forged friendships.
